At The End Of The World
Once there was a man who worked and worked but as he worked his hands became dirty. If only there was some water that would go to my hands and clean them by themselves, he thought.
So he decided to ask the Tree at the end of the world where that water could be. Because it just had to exist.
He went outside on a cold blue day. He walked past by a tree with a dog stuck in it. The dog whimpered and looked at the ground with big scared eyes. So the man got a ladder and helped the dog down.
Smiling, the man continued on his way and the dog ran down to the playground and bit a small child.
Then the man saw a chicken crossing the road. He grabbed the chicken, put it in a sack and sold it and made lots of money, which he used to buy himself some lunch.
He walked and walked and walked and arrived at the Tree at the end of the world. He took a deep breath and asked ‘Where is the water that goes to your hands and cleans them by itself?’
The Tree said ‘Don’t be so lazy! Wash your hands yourself!’
‘That doesn’t answer my question!’ the man replied.
The Tree looked at him with one penetrating eye, and said angrily, ‘There is no such water!’
The man was overcome with sadness. He wanted that water so much! He trembled and began to cry. The tears ran down his arms and washed the dirt from his hands.
He looked at his tears.
‘You’re wrong!’.
